SCUNTHORPE'S exit from the Johnstone Paint Trophy to Port Vale on Monday night means central defender Andy Butler will be available to play against Mansfield on Tuesday night. The Iron would only allow on-loan Butler to take part in the game if they were knocked out of the competition.
However striker Gary Jones will miss the Mansfield match as the first game in a three match ban after Saturday's red card.
Last season's leading scorer was dismissed for a two-footed challenge during the first half of Saturday's 2-2 draw at Peterborough, and the club have decided not to appeal against the decision.
Another loanee, Forest winger Kevin James, is expected to be allowed to take part in the game by the Nottingham club, and therefore is likely to play against Mansfield.
