Weight:12.12
Date of birth:18/03/1971
Place of birth:Derby
Position:Defender
Nationality:English
Transfer Fee:Free

Under Contract:End of 2007-08
Previous Clubs:Hull City
Stoke City
Celtic
League Two Class:Spent most of his career at this level.
Fishy Verdict:No-nonsense centre half, who although not the prettiest of players at times, makes up for it with plenty of endeavour and effort. Was one of Russell Slade’s first signings as Town boss, and has been a prominent figure in the centre of the Mariners defence ever since. Alan Buckley, like Rodger and Slade before him, has made Whittle the heart of his team.

2006-2007 saw Justin Whittle win the two main Player of the Year awards, and be rewarded with another year's contract. Whitts turned down a coaching job in Belgium to prolong his playing career for another 12 months.
