Nicky Rizzo

Australian midfielder who played only the once for Grimsby. Had started his career off playing for Liverpool, and was released after his first senior season at Anfield where he failed to make an appearance.

He signed for Crystal Palace in July 1998, where he played until the end of the 1999/2000 season when he made a £100,000 move to Italian Serie B side Ternana.

Rizzo returned to England in November 2004 signing for Wimbledon, who had just be renamed Milton Keynes Dons. He failed to settle at the Dons and made under 50 apperances for the club before he left in May 2007.

He had signed for Grimsby on loan for 1 month in the January transfer window, but was injured in training, and only ever featured in the embarasing 2-0 home defeat to Chester City. Rizzo did not play again until April when he played in 4 games on loan at League One Chesterfield.

He was released by the MK Dons at the end of the season and returned to his home town club Sydney FC in the Australian First Division.
