Mick Saxby1982/83100 goals

Came to us on loan and with a good pedigree at a time: we were struggling in Division 2 (now Championship) in 82/3. A big centre half he had a good reputation and Luton had paid £200,000 for him, then a reasonably large fee.

The problem was by the time he reached us his legs seemed to have gone and he looked bulky, I remember seeing him in games where we were (he was) constantly outpaced at the back.

He only played 10 games and we somehow survived. Thankfully for him and us he moved on to Lincoln on loan. Probably a good place in all honesty.
