October Player of the Month

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 31/10/2007

OCTOBER was a disastrous month for the Mariners and they will be pleased to put it behind them. But for the JPT win at Rotherham, every league game was a huge disappointment and the month's only point came in the final game with Bradford.

Home > 2007-2008 Season > Player of the Month > October

The six players nominated by our readers for the October Player of the Month award, votes from which will count towards the eventual winner at the end of the season, are as follows:

Phil Barnes - Barnes has been rejuvenated this season and attention has switched from Town's 'keeper to elsewhere in the team this season for where things are not working. Last month's winner.

Danny Boshell - Another player who has thrived under Buckley and found the target regularly from central midfield including this month's game at Chester.

Shaleum Logan - Only played three games in October but scored on his debut and against Bradford. Still a little suspect defensively, but a class player who looks like he could play further up the pitch than right back.

Tom Newey - After an indifferent start at Grimsby when he struggled with form and indiscipline, Newey has become a stalwart of the team. A solid defender as ever, Newey's strength this year has been his forward runs into the box and his set pieces.

Peter Till - An early signing by Alan Buckley, Peter Till's form on the right side of midfield is keeping Peter Bore out of the side. On his day Till is one of Grimsby's most exciting and dangerous players.

Justin Whittle - Whittle always gives 100% every game and his experience at this level is invaluable to the Town team.

Pleas vote using Question of the Week.
