Beat the Bookies: Week 28

NOTTS County came up with the goods last week against woeful Chester to ensure that Beat the Bookies returned to winning ways. Sadly the Wrexham v MK Dons game was postponed, which stopped us getting a second winner.

Town fell flat on their faces last week and they have a very hard trip this weekend to face Brian Little's rejuvenated Wrexham side fighting for their place in the Football League. What's more Town have no Sam Hird, a possible formation change, and the small matter of three consecutive games against Morecambe on everyone's minds. Wrexham are 13/10, which is doubtless where the smart money will go. The Welsh Dragons are also 7/2 to win by two goals, which will obviously pay a handsome return if you think Grimsby may come to a sorry end at the Racecourse.
Elsewhere in League Two MK Dons are midway between the two JPT matches and must be well on the way to planning their Wembley suits. The JPT has clearly been a distraction for them in recent weeks as they have come seriously unstuck in a lot of league games. But the bookies keep making them heavy odds-on favourites. This week they have a difficult trip to Underhill, home of the inconsistent Barnet who can take advantage of the situation. At 11/4 the Bees are a good bet to spring a surprise on their sloping pitch.
Lincoln are on a terrific run and face Rotherham who have slumped dismally in recent games and now have the spectre of administration and a ten point penalty to put a final nail in their promotion coffin. City can be backed at 11/4 to win at Millmoor, probably the bet of the week.
For those who prefer shorter odds the best even money bet in the league this week is improving Mansfield to pick up three points against wayward Chester.
