Coyne Could Face Brazil
News From 13th April 2000
Town keeper Danny Coyne could be swapping first division football for international honours against Brazil
at the new Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in May. His recent performances for Grimsby have attracted the attention of Mark Hughes.
Hughes is having the 25-year old first choice keeper watched for Town's next few games.
Coyne has already received one cap for Wales. But with Southampton's Paul Jones currently injured,
and the other main contender for the number one jersey, Forest's Mark Crossley, out of favour at the moment,
Coyne has a good chance of getting the nod.
Wales Boss Mark Hughes said:
"I don't know a great deal about Danny's situation but we'll be taking a look at him over the next fortnight.
"I'm obviously looking at the situation and I know they have a couple of big games coming up in the next couple of weeks."
