Reserve Game Off

This evening's reserve match at Blundell Park has gone the same way as last night's game against Wolves and been abandoned due to the waterlogged pitch at Blundell Park. The news is a major disappointment for Lennie Lawrence who was to have used the occasion to try out several trial players.
Lawrence in particular was to have used the game to assess Reading trialist Sean Evers, before determining the length of his trial period. The clubs foreign trio of Batty, Lenhart and Goya were also expected to have played in the game, which would have attracted a larger than average gate for a reserve game, with fans turning up to see the trialists. A re-arranged date for the reserve fixture has yet to be announced.
