Grimsby v Luton Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 25/01/2018

GRIMSBY take on leaders Luton at Blundell Park looking to follow up on their point against Colchester. They will have their work cut out as the Hatters are six points clear at the top and look near-certainties to grab one of the three automatic promotion places.

Town in contrast look destined to finish the season with a whimper after flirting with the play-offs towards the end of last year. The Mariners though still need several more wins to banish fears of a sustained run from some of the sides beneath them dragging Grimsby into a relegation

Slade will be boosted by the prospect of star player Bairiki Dembele returning to the side. He has been missing with a back injury but has returned to training this week. Forwards Sam Jones (bug) and Jamille Matt (hamstring), are both very doubtful.

Luton striker Danny Hylton is rated doubtful after the side's top scorer missed the game with Chesterfield and limped off within 8 minutes of his comeback at Morecambe, and is yet to train.

Town can take some comfort from the fact that Luton have lost their last two away games, at Chesterfield and Port Vale.
