Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

The Town Safe Debate

The Town Safe Debate

David Peasgood this week finds Town's sudden spurt up the table has left Fred and Bert speculating.
Hear their views and YOU decide in our latest 'fishy' poll.

Bert & Fred

The Town Safe Debate

FRED:
Some folk reckon were safe now and that this 17 points shows we'll easily get 50 before the years out.

BERT:
They're being premature. There's a long way to go and with a load of tough away games coming up we could be back in the bottom before Christmas.

FRED:
Yeah but Huddersfield, Stockport, Palace and Sheff Weds look set to stay down there.

BERT:
Well actually Palace and Sheff Weds have perked up a bit themselves too. There's still a relegation spot for town marked next to Huddersfield and Stockport if we want it.

FRED:
Admit it though, our mini revival has surprised you.

BERT:
Oh yeah. It has. A lot of it down to Handyside steadying defence and Nielsen adding confidence to Livvo and Allen up front, but it can all evaporate.

FRED:
Like how?

BERT:
Like Nielsen gets spotted and signs for a big club, Gallymore struggles more and the new guy Fostervold may be no better, then all it takes is a few injuries.

FRED:
I don't think so. I reckon Smith will come back with Handyside, and Neil Murray will make midfield his own with Stacy, and Campbell could stay on loan for the rest of the year. With a couple more signings there'll be competition for places and even if Nielsen goes there's this Finland International striker to look at next.

BERT:
Then there was the 4-0 thrashing by Watford.

FRED:
Rubbish, the scoreline didn't reflect the way the game went at all. Watford was just a blip!

BERT:
I hope so! Still you can't knock Lawrence for all the triallists he's seen. It makes Buckley look a little inept when he said there was no-one available eh!

FRED:
Well I'm going to go for 12 the place finish with 60 points. Then push next year for the play-offs.

BERT:
I'll stick with 50 points and fourth from bottom.

FRED:
Wonder what the rest think?
