The meeting of North East Lincolnshire Council to make a decision on the proposed changes to the Local Plan to allow Grimsby Town Football Club to build a new stadium at Great Coates has been set for 7.00pm at The Town Hall, Grimsby on Wednesday, 22nd November 2000.

Grimsby Town Chairman Doug Everitt, has called upon all Town fans to attend the meeting to show their support for the club. "We are optimistic that the decision will go in our favour," he said. "The councillors have now reviewed the proposal for a new stadium site and we trust that the fans will attend the meeting to show their backing for the club." Vice-Chairman Bryan Huxford said "Let us hope that this time the councillors make a decision that is in accordance with the wishes of the overwhelming majority of the people who elected them."
