Grimsby Town vice-chairman Bryan Huxford has given his reaction to Wednesday night's monumental decision by NELC to approve the club's proposal for a new stadium to be built at Great Coates. Mr. Huxford said that tomorrow would be the start of a new future for the Mariners.

Speaking to the club's Press Officer, Tim Harvey, a delighted Mr. Huxford commented: "It's a decision that we've been longing for and one that's been a long time coming. We can get on now. The planning application is in place and should be heard by the council in mid-January, then we can start moving on the new ground. "Tomorrow is the beginning of a new future for Grimsby Town. We can all be optimistic and we've all got something to look forward to. It's going to be a lot of hard work, there'll be a lot of soul-searching and we'll need a lot of input from everybody involved with the football club. "It gives everyone a lift - it's a lift we need, and tomorrow will be a great day for the football club."
