Mendonca/Other News

Speculation that Grimsby old-boy Clive Mendonca presently with Charlton Athletic would be returning to Grimsby on loan (As reported in earlier edition of the Fishy) has been refuted by Charlton Athletic.
Clive has been injured for most of the season at the Valley but although he is now back to training shortly he is not anywhere back to fitness said a spokesman for Charlton.
This means that the premier league player Lennie Lawrence will be looking to sign next week remains a mystery.
Suspensions
Menno Willems and Alan Pouton have both been suspended for the game against Gillingham on Saturday week. Willems for collecting five yellow cards since he arrived at Grimsby and Pouton for being red carded in a reserve team game away at York recently.
Jason Batty
Jason Batty has signed a monthly contract with Scunthorpe United after having a two weeks trial with them.
Batty did well at Blundell Park, but after an extended loan at Blundell he left and joined Scunthorpe on trial.
He has played in two reserve games for them and Brian Laws has offered the New Zealand international a rolling contract.
