Reserves Defeat Darlo

GRIMSBY TOWN'S second string recorded a 3-2 victory against Darlington at Feetham on Wednesday night, with Kingsley Black, Alan Pouton (penalty) and Leicester City's defender Danny Thomas (currently on trial at Blundell Park) all on target for the Mariners.

Grimsby striker Bradley Allen got another game under his belt to continue his return from a serious ankle injury which has kept the Mariners' joint top scorer out of contention since December last year.

Manchester United's Mark Studley and Michael Rose, Dutch keeper Ronald Ermes, and Thomas were amongst a number of trialists to feature in the game, along with full-time squad members Allen, Pouton, and left-sided midfielder Kingsley Black, who scored his his fourth goal the last in five Avon Insurance League matches.

Grimsby Town: Ermes, Smith, Ward, Bloomer, Studley, Buckley, Pouton, Rose, Thomas, Black, Allen

Subs: Bolder, Hockless, Cranley, Burton, McMahon, Moran, Hildred, Thorne
