Kop That! Review

AFTER the news came out that the Liverpool highlights video was to go on general sale last Saturday, I was one of the first to collect a copy from the club shop before the Watford match. At £12.99 you get to keep something to remember October 9 by, one of the greatest days in the history of GTFC.

The video is put together by the YTV team and has commentary on the night from Alistair Mann. It doesn't cover every single minute of the game but has a very respectable overall coverage of the game. The first and second half action is edited down to around one hour, and in extra time hardly any action at all is left out. Overall the video runs for around 100 minutes.

The video begins with comments from the manager Lennie Lawrence, keeper Danny Coyne and Captain Paul Groves. It's not long before the action starts and the first half highlights continue for about half an hour. It's been very cleverly edited so that you don't miss a thing.

At half time we hear once more from the manager, keeper and Captain. Phil Jevons also speaks after the full time whistle on what the game plan was. If you were able to record the Midweek Match program shown on the night itself at 23:30 then you will find the pictures and commentary very familiar.

The extra time action is what most Town fans will be fast-forwarding to. There are multi-camera angles of the game and many instant replays to relive key moments. At the end of the game the manager and players speak of their heroic and momentous achievement with a grin as wide as the Humber estuary.

The two Grimsby goals are played over and over again towards the end of the video, which means that finger can have a rest from hitting the rewind button on the handset! If you were there, then this video is a must. I've found myself pausing the crowd shots to see if I can spot myself! Even if you weren't there, the video still provides a great souvenir of one of the best nights in the club's history.

Although the video is produced professionally by YTV, it does make one wonder what the commentary would had been like if John Moore and company were there.. "Oooh that's a nasty shot..surely not... OHHHHH!!!! It's Phil Jevons with a wonder goal!!!!!" Perhaps we'll never know.

The video costs just £12.99 and is available on-line at the Club Shop
