Put Your Shirt On This!

MARINERS Net the Official Site has a very special item for auction that true Grimsby fans will find hard to resist. Shirts are always popular, but here's one that's perhaps more special than any other that has been offered.

When Grovesie brought his battle-scarred, black and white number 4 shirt over to be re-badged and renumbered, we subtly suggested it might be time that he had a brand new one instead.

Such munificence on our part wasn't without reason! We have now 'obtained' the original for auction.

You might think that the unique nature of our offer is that it belongs to the player manager. No, far more than that! Consider this:

Wearing this shirt, Paul Groves has:

· equalled, then beaten Tony Ford's appearance record in fourth place for the Mariners
· equalled, then beaten the third placed 'mighty atom' Jackie Bestall's appearance record
... · made his 500th all-competition appearance for the Mariners
... · made his 700th professional all-competition appearance ... AND
· scored Town's 6,000th league goal!

We think you'll see now that this shirt is really special, totally unique, and there's absolutely no chance whatsoever that any shirt we offer now, or in the future can ever match the history behind this one.

And it comes signed by Paul Groves himself, AND with a certificate of authenticity, listing the achievements and landmarks of Grovesie while wearing this very shirt!

We would point out that this is the genuine article, and so is not in an 'as new' condition! It proudly boasts the scars of battle, some badly damaged Nationwide badges that vouch for its authenticity, and a number 4 that's seen better days! But that is precisely what makes it so collectable!
