The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Paul Harries - Profile

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 15/09/2004

AUSTRALIAN striker Paul Harries has joined the Mariners on trial. Formerly with Football Kingz, where Jason Batty and current trialist John Tambouras played, he is an ex under 23 player for Australia.

He started his career with Wollongong Wolves, on the South Coast of NSW, Australia. Portsmouth brought him to England but he has since played for Basingstoke, Crystal Palace, Torquay, Macclesfield Town, Carlisle Utd and Exeter.

Robbie Slater described him on SBS television as "a pacy striker who likes to take on defenders" This was after Harries scored 2 goals in a game against Adelaide City who were very good team in the National Soccer League in Australia.

He does not appear to have settled with any one club in the UK but League 2 football may suit him. (thinks I)
