Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Shrewsbury 1 Grimsby Town 1

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 19/10/2004

THE Mariners drew 1-1 with Shrewsbury tonight in a game that started off brightly with Terry Fleming scoring his first goal for Town in the first 5 minutes and Williams saving a penalty shortly after. The rest of the first half there were a few chances but no goals.

In the second half Town just seemed to have lost their concentration and struggled a bit but still had a number of unproductive chances with Sir Stan seeming to love the high over the bar shots.

Shrewsbury got more into the game and it was no surprise when they scored the equaliser in the 77th minute through what appeared to be the goalies error and it seemed then that it would be the final score.

Disappointing result but Town maintain their 6 game unbeaten run with only one goal against.

Town: Williams, Whittle, Forbes, Gordon, McDermott, Coldicott, Fleming, Crowe, Reddy, Sestanovich, Parkinson

Subs: Marcelle, Cramb, Jones, Bull, Pinault

Shrewsbury: Howie, Moss, Whitehead, Tinson, Sedgemore, Street, Tolley, O'Connor, Aiston, Darby, Rodgers

Subs: Walton, Hart, Fox, Lowe, McGrath
