GRIMSBY Town's Board of Directors are pleased to confirm the re-appointment of Russell Slade as manager of the club for next season.
The Board agreed that Russell is the right man to take the football club through into next year and wanted to announce this to the public when the club reached fifty points this season.
There is a clause in Russell's agreement that gave him automatic continuity of his contract for next season subject to the club finishing in12th place or above. However, the club felt it was right to act now and confirm Russell's position.
Russell inherited only four senior professional players last summer. In a short time he has put together a squad that has shown considerable promise. Russell has managed to steady the ship this year and with a decent run of form of late there still remains an outside chance of achieving the playoffs.
Pre-season planning has already started and the playing budget for next season has been agreed with the manager. The board has every confidence that Russell will spend wisely.
