Stuart Campbell

Scottish player capable of playing all over midfield. Signed on loan initially from Leicester City in the 2000/2001 season, Campbell - who had earlier played on loan for Birmingham City - ended a 3 month loan spell good enough to see him move permanently to Town for £250,000.

Campby was not quite the player he was while he was on loan, but cemented a regular place at Grimsby for the next 4 seasons commanding the midfield and scoring 7 goals in the 2002/2003 season, making him the top scorer that year.

Stu seemed to struggle a little in his final season at Blundell Park, as we did expect him to conquer Division 2; he sunk like the rest of the team. At the end of the 2003/2004 season Campbell decided to leave Grimsby in order to find a new club.

That summer he signed for Bristol Rovers, where he remains to this day.

Next Player: Dean Gordon
