Stopping The Rot

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 10/11/2005

RUSSELL Slade has a huge task on his hands tomorrow in that he has to stop the run of home defeats. His task may be a little bit easier with Macclesfield not being one of the promotion favourites.

But Slade still has to overcome the worries and fears in the squad who seem to be unable so far to show the same reliance as they do in away games.

To the Grimsby Telegraph Slade said; "We have to get the home form right if we have any ideas about staying up at the top. It won't be easy against Macclesfield but we have to win these sort of games if we want to challenge for promotion."

"Tomorrow is a great opportunity for us to put some pressure on the teams around us who play a day later. "A few of those around us face away trips on Saturday so if we can win, it will give them something to think about."

With Town's sick list and the absence of JPK he may use either one or two of the trialists he has at BP after their impressive performance in the reserves yesterday.

. "They will both be staying a bit longer because they did well in the game saying; "Kris (looked like a young John McDermott and Bas caused them problems. He is an awkward customer up front."
