Why Are They Doing This?

By: Tony Hamilton
Date: 13/04/2006

AT the start of the season I scrimped and saved as usual to get my season ticket as early as possible so I could get the relevant discounts. Now, to my amazement, Town are aiding the part timers who want to jump on the promotion bandwagon by offering cheap tickets for the last few games.

Why are they doing this? In my opinion season ticket holders who renew their tickets should get more discounts than are available now! We all know the PR department is non-existent at Blundell Park but this error of judgement by the directors is pretty annoying as we all know people who won't go to the games but now bump into them because the cheap tickets are flowing every home game.

Isn't it about time the football club had a close look at the season ticket scheme and aid the people who help the club in the summer in its survival and think of other ways it can reward people who part with their hard earned cash for a season ticket every summer. If the commercial department was as good as the club keeps telling us they would have solved this problem years ago.

Why do the club take season ticket holders for granted by thinking they will renew their season tickets every season? Other clubs have special nights for their ticket holders and since I've had a season ticket I've never known the club to do anything like this for season ticket holders.

I wonder how many people reading this have an opinion on this matter?
