THE FISHY supports the appeal by Town FC chairman, John Fenty, to Mariners' fans to help with the club's bid to relocate to a new stadium at Great Coates and we ask you to become involved.

The Town chief describes the planning meeting later this month as "the most important day in the club's history" but says that supporters have a big part to play leading up to the meeting.

"Initially we need our supporters to send their views on the stadium to local MP Shona McIsaac. Many have already done so but we really need you to make your voices heard."

"This is just the type of support our scheme needs in one final push to obtain a planning permission giving us the opportunity to deliver the scheme".

It is important that Fishy subscribers understand how important this is. Local politicians like Shona McIsaac are willing to help. But to do that they have to know that the community supports the proposals.

She represents the community and will only help if she sees that it has significant support. She cannot do any other. That is her duty as an MP.

It is very important therefore that we show that there is significant support for the proposal.

We should also remember that those who are opposed to the proposal will not be standing back doing nothing. They will be lobbying council members and MP's too and unless the support for the proposal outweighs that of the objectors, we could be facing defeat.

That is how politics work and we would be making a grave mistake if we thought otherwise.

That is why we are asking everyone to do their bit and let Shona McIsaac know where we stand.

Time is short and we ask you not only to do your bit to help, but to DO IT TODAY!

Click HERE to post your views to Shona before its too late.
