SO now we know. Thanks to the Grimsby Telegraph who have confirmed that Town manager Alan Buckley did speak to former Mariner Jack Lester about a possible return to Blundell Park.
Buckley told the Telegraph: "There was something like a two-minute conversation on the phone with Jack. He knows me and the club and he took the call and listened to what I had to say."
As reported, Lester chose to go to Chesterfield but evidently that does not faze Buckley.
"But it doesn't affect my plans a great deal because that was just something I thought I'd enquire about.
Buckley now continues his search for the striker he needs and there will be news of that soon
