Mike Brolly

Mike Brolly signed for Town from Bristol City in Sept 1976 and stayed for the best part of 6 years. He had started out at Chelsea before moving to Ashton Gate.

Mike was capped at Schoolboy and Youth level by Scotland

A natural winger his balding pate shone throughout his 248 league appearances for Town.

His fitness is bourne out by the number of games played. He featured in all 46 games in 77/78 and missed just 3 league games across the following two seasons

His most famous goals came when Everton were beaten 2-1 at Blundell Park in Oct 1979 prompting the "Sun" headlines of "Good Golly, Its Brolly".

He moved on to Derby County, under John Newman and helped turn around their fortunes, featuring strongly in Derby's FA Cup win over Forest which was billed as Clough v Taylor.

After Derby he briefly turned out for Scunthorpe before drifting into non-league football.

Currently a Grimsby school teacher he coaches an age group within the District Schools set up.
