GRIMSBY beat Lincoln City 1-0 in the semi-final of the Lincolnshire Senior Cup on Tuesday night and will now face Scunthorpe in the final. Peter Bore scored the winning goal in the first half, and Town were not greatly troubled in the remainder of the game.
It was the Grimsby's best performance of the pre-season to date, albeit against an City side missing several of their first-choice line-up.
Town have not lifted the Lincolnshire Senior Cup since 1999-2000, but have collected the cup on 36 prior occasions.
