Chris Llewellyn | 2008/09 | 15 (17) | 0 goals |
Former Welsh International Llewellyn arrived at Blundell Park on a two year deal in the summer of 2008. Having made a name for himself as a youngster at Norwich City, he had moved on to play for Wrexham, and was noted as one of the club's most talented players in recent years. Following Wrexham's relegation from the Football League, he had signed up for Town. Despite arriving with a decent reputation, he struggled in the early part of the season, and failed to show why he warranted a trial, let alone a two year contract. After Alan Buckley was sacked, Chris was demoted to a regular bench warmer by new manager Mike Newell. Despite impressing in the odd game, and showing signs of improvement, he was released from his contract at the end of the 2008-2009 season after making 32 appearances for Town in total, 17 of them as a substitute, and having failed to score a single goal. Upon his release from the club, Chris signed for Welsh side Neath Athletic.
