Yeovil Team News

GRIMSBY need to beat League One side Yeovil tonight (7pm) in Torrington to stay in the Errea South West Challenge Cup. With both sides having beaten Belgian side RRFC Montegnee, one of the two teams must progress to the final stages of the tournament at the weekend.

The Somerset side will fancy their chances, being a division above Town, closer to home, and having thrashed Montegnee 5-0 in their first game, whereas Town scraped through 1-0.

Town boss Mike Newell told the Grimsby Telegraph: "It will be a tougher test that's for sure - Yeovil are in the division above us in the league.

"It will be good for the lads but, like I've already stressed, it's all about fitness first and foremost.

"Of course, you like to win, but we won't be too bothered as long as the players get the most out of it and so far they have".

Peter Sweeney and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro could feature tonight after missing the first game through injury, although the Town boss many again elect to leave them out with a number of pre-season games still to come. Once again Newell is likely to use most of his squad to give him the chance to look at everyone in action.

In the event of a draw the match with the Glovers will be settled on penalties.
