Fleetwood v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 18/02/2011

GRIMSBY head to Fleetwood for one of the biggest games of the season and looking for revenge after the Lancashire side beat Town at Blundell Park in September. Town are seven points behind Fleetwood, who occupy the final play-off place, with three games in hand. A win would leave Grimsby as favourites to overtake them.

A defeat would leave the Mariners 10 points off the play-offs - not insurmountable with three games in hand, but a tall order.

Town have some injury problems. New signing Bryan Hughes is still doubtful in midfield, as is Dean Sinclair who has a thigh problem. Charles Ademeno is expected back in around two weeks, and Dwayne Samuels, who has just returned from a loan spell, has a stomach problem.

On the plus side midfielder Michael Cummings returns from a one-match ban, and Peter Bore has recovered from a groin problem and could feature.

Fleetwood lost at York on Tuesday, and have been suffering poor results recently. They will give a late fitness test to striker Gareth Seddon (calf), but defender Sean Gregan and midfielder Jamie McGuire should recover in time from minor knocks.

The Cod Army's dangerman is number 10 Magno Vieira, who has scored 17 goals already this season. The goal poacher is however on a barren run of 7 games without finding the net.
