Mansfield v Grimsby Team News

TOWN return to Mansfield where they won last season, hoping to repeat their victory at nearby Chesterfield in the season's opener. The Mariners finally picked up a home win last week against Crewe which saw them move away from the relegation zone.

Town are boosted by the return of striker Sam Jones and defender Danny Collins after their suspensions from the red cards in the opening set of August games. Long-term injuries Jamey Osbourne and Akwasi Asante are still ruled out, but Martyn Woolford, Karleigh Osbourne and Tom Bolarinwa all have knocks, which will be monitored.

Mansfield captain Zander Diamond (groin) is close to returning and could feature after missing the last three games. Winger Alex MacDonald and midfielder Alfie Potter are both fit again so Mansfield manager Steve Evans has virtually a full squad to pick from.

The Stags have struggled for points and have two wins to their name, matching Town on six points. However, they are unbeaten at home.
