GRIMSBY finally chalked up a win with the presence of new boss Ian Holloway inspiring them to victory. It was the third match undefeated for caretaker boss Anthony Limbrick who will drop back to Assistant Manager now Holloway has picked up the reigns.
Town rode their luck with Salford's Adam Rooney missing more than one good chance in the first half and Asante missed a sitter after the break but Town had luck on their side when substitute Ahkeem Rose converted a late chance with a scuffed shot which crept into the corner of the net.
Town had been short of luck in recent weeks and the win can only add to the confidence instilled by the appointment of a talismanic manager.
