Hume Swaps Haddock for Cod

DENVER Hume has swapped the haddocks of Grimsby for the cods of Fleetwood. The out-of-contract defender was offered a new deal at Town but elected instead to sign a two-year deal with the Cod Army.
Hume played in the majority of Grimsby's fixtures last season and was named in the League Two team of the season. He was expected to be likely to leave with more lucrative deals away from Blundell Park, but Town fans will get the chance to see him twice when the Mariners play Fleetwood, the away game which falls on New Year's Day.
In another blow, Town Icelandic international midfielder Jason Svanthorsson will miss the start of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
