Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Injury List 07/09/2001

By: Peter Forrester
Date: 09/09/2001

WITH the season well and truly under way and Town have got off to a superb start with limited resources. How long is it before certain key players return to the front line? Here is the Injury List for this week:

  • Paul Raven - The central defender is still suffering from the ankle injury that has ruled him out of the season so far. Expect the player to be back in training in around 2 weeks. It will be a great sight for Lennie to see Raven on the training pitch again.

  • David Smith - the left winger made his comeback in Wednesdays reserve game. The player has been suffering from a calf injury but it seems the player is on the verge of a first team comeback.

  • Ben Chapman - the centre back was impressive in the reserve game against Blackpool but did pick up a shoulder injury.

  • Steve Livingstone - the big man has been a regular at the gym to continue his recovery from a bad back injury. Although working hard don't expect Livvo back for 2 more weeks.

  • Stacy Coldicott - the tough ex Baggie is suffering with a pulled hamstring. Don't expect him back for at least another week.

Lennie Lawrence will love to see Livvo and Coldicott back as they provide a certain eagerness to the game when they play. It will also be a relief to see Raven in training as it is well documented that Town suffer in the centre back position.
