Fenty Top 100 Earner!

By: Tony Hamilton
Date: 08/11/2004

YESTERDAY one of the national papers released a list of the top 100 earners for this year. A few names we all know were there in the list, but one propping everybody else up was our Chairman, John Fenty, who was reported to be worth £13.7 million pounds!

Fenty's job description is given as a fishmonger, and his earnings for the year puts him alongside people like David Beckham and Robbie Williams.

Mr Fenty talking to the Grimsby Telegraph said: "I'm a proud person and read the piece in question with some amusement".

Mr Fenty's story started on Grimsby Fish docks where he formed Five Star Fish, which is now based on the A180, covering a 4-acre site

Five Star Fish employs 300 people and annually turns over £25 million and is one of the UK’s largest fish-producing companies. In November 2002 Fenty bought the major shareholding of Dudley Ramsden at GTFC, following that up with the position of Chairman this summer.

  • Town are to appeal against on-loan Stockport striker John Daly's sending off against Scunthorpe on Saturday. Daly was sent off for use of the elbow, but the club believe video evidence suggests they have a good case. If the appeal fails Daly will get a three match ban.
