Halifax Move To Buy Mansaram

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 09/11/2004

MARINERS boss Russell Slade said today that Darren Mansaram is going nowhere after turning down a "derisory" offer from Halifax Town.

Mansaram, is currently back at Blundell Park receiving treatment for a back injury and had time to talk to the official site saying; "I have enjoyed myself at Halifax and it is good to be playing football. I have been made an offer by Halifax and it is up to the to club's to sort it out now."

"I just want to play football. I will play where I get the chance to play."

Chris Wilder said; "We have agreed terms with Darren, but we still have to do a deal with Grimsby There is still the chance that Mansaram could extend his loan by a further month."

Billo Says: There are at least 3 or 4 players the Town fans would like to see go to Halifax but Mansaram would not be one of them. Some would even suggest Slade should go there instead.

On recent performances, we could send the whole front line and not miss them. Letting Mansaram go at this time might turn out to be a major mistake for Slade.

Mansaram has not been able to show his recent form to his own club and until that happens, Slade is dealing with an unknown quantity. He should be given the chance and if he does not perform, then he can go to Halifax without any problem.
