Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

A New Dawn?
A New Dawn?

Not Enough Blood!

JUST a follow up to last week's article. I am very concerned by the size and composition of Town's squad for next season. Look at what we have got at the moment: including the two new players we have just 13 senior outfield players.

Reddy is probably not going to be ready to start the season, Beagrie had only 19 starts for Scunthorpe last season so we surely can not expect any more. According to the Sports paper Bolland has yet to sign, we will have to carry Barwick next season and three defenders are in their thirties.

Now according to Graham Rodger in Saturday's Sports paper we only have enough cash for two more signings. This with the frailties I have outlined will certainly not be enough to mount a serious challenge for promotion. If this is the case I would like to ask Mr Fenty a couple of questions: 1. just how much did we really get from Hibs for Jones; 2. what did we do with the money from the Play-Offs, Sky etc.

It seems to me we are not going to have a squad as strong has last season and I for one would like to know the reason why.

One last word for Graham Rodger: well done for trying to bring the right style of football back to Blundell Park and don't forget to stand your ground when it comes to asking for more from this board. Good luck for the coming season, I feel you're going to need it.
