As much as I love him it's not for him to be discussing the club's budget on the radio. He's very good at using the media to his advantage and to get the fans onside. At the end of the day if he loves it here as much as he keeps saying he'll re-sign. If not we'll move on.

I'd have loved him to stay but the way he's conducted himself leaves a bit to be desired. Maybe we've all been sucked in by another badge-kisser. I'll still be here next season.

It may be the cynic in me but it feels like he's trying to leverage his position with the fans into getting a bigger offer from the club for next season. Kinda underhand if that is the case.

He's made an assumption about the budget and broadcast it on the radio when it's not his place to do so. Any employee in any job who did the same would be conducting themselves badly IMO. He's also using the media to try and get more money for himself which I can't really be ar sed with.

Fair enough if that's your view chrisblor, but I don't get that impression. Let's assume it's true though - to what end? So he can stay! If it was just a financial ruse, he would simply sign for one of the league clubs offering him more money, closer to where he lives.
