No players would have been asked to take a pay decrease. If anything then the squad will be smaller to allow for Hurst to bring the players back that he wants to keep with maybe 5 or 6 more to add to that. Hence the reason 9 have gone

Says he was one of the lowest paid last year and he's had a rise in the contract but it's not too great. Considering his options at the moment and is giving us as much time to try and add extras to his contract that will help him such as his transport and location issue.

He's had Football League offers. He will make the decision in the next week or so.

The last minute or so indicates to me that he is off and we will be surprised that the club he is going to as we will consider them smaller. Seems his travel costs and location is key. He car shared with Hannah, Paddy & Parslow last season and with all them gone he can't afford the travel costs to training everyday!

He is a skilled operator on and off the pitch ( maybe trained in such at Chelsea?). Says lots about the fans and size of club. Has been offered a decent pay rise but wanted/expected more.

IMO going public is the end of negotiation.

Thanks Carl, a cracking and consistent performer BUT like every player, replaceable (somehow)

Sounded to me that as much as he wants to stop, the money is not good enough and he will go elsewhere for the cash even though the club is not so big. After hearing that I think he won't be stopping. Shame
