The Fishy - Grimsby Town FC

Question of the Week

Is football a business or a sport?

Third Time Unlucky

TOWN boss Paul Groves has once again been turned down, this time by a Premiership striker who had the chance to come on loan to Blundell Park. With Grimsby desperate for some fire power up front, today's rejection was the third in a week for the Mariners, and is a setback for Grimsby.

Groves had agreed a deal with the unnamed player's club, and he was due to make his debut at Hartlepool tonight, only for the forward to reject the opportunity out of hand.

"He was the type of player we are looking for, someone able to hold the ball up," the Mariners boss told the Grimsby Telegraph. "He did not give a reason, only that he was not coming."

Grimsby are expected to start tonight against Pool with top scorer Michael Boulding accompanied by Johnny Rowan up front, the only two fit strikers at the club with any significant first team experience (with the exception of Phil Jevons who is still unavailable due to contract disagreements).
