Gritton Price Hike?

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 22/12/2004

THE Grimsby Telegraph report today that Slade's attempt to sign League One striker Martin Gritton could be hit with a stumbling block due to ongoing wranglings over the prospective fee.

Torquay United had previously agreed a fee with Blackpool, which the Telegraph said was thought to be around £15,000.

But Torquay are now believed to be asking £50,000 for him and this has caused a hitch in the proceedings with Slade saying; "The transfer fee could be a stumbling block".

But it appears that all is not lost as Slade is continuing his talks adding; "There is still a lot of work to be done on the deal."
