Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Who's Your Hero?
Who's Your Hero?

March Player of the Month

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 03/04/2006

MARCH was a successful month for the Mariners after a fairly unconvincing start to 2006. It ended with the worst result of the season, however: a 5-0 hammering at rivals Lincoln.

Home > 2005-2006 Season > Player of the Month > March

Here are the six nominations for March's player of the month award:

Paul Bolland - Midfielder

Bolly’s form has been top notch so far this season and is an unsung hero in the midfield department.

Gary Cohen Midfielder

Cohen's pace causes the opposition problems wherever he plays, which is normally on the wing. Does his fair share of defending as well and he is not frightened to get "stuck in".

Michael Reddy - Defender

Town's dangerman and talisman, who surprisingly failed to score during the month of March. Reddy also creates a lot of chances and takes defenders out of the game, hence he still won enough nominations to appear on the shortlist.

Steve Mildenhall - Goalkeeper

Steve has been the backbone of Town's defence (one of the best in the all four leagues) and is a much better goalie than the one we had last season. Arguably Slade's best signing of the summer.

Gary Jones - Striker

Hands up if you have slagged Gary Jones off at some point this season? Well the big man has come into his own of late, and has been scoring goals for fun in recent games. Jones is now just one goal behind Reddy for the season.

Curtis Woodhouse - Midfielder

Slade's best signing so far in the transfer window, the former Hull midfielder has been a revelation since joining Town in January. His passing and general hard work in the centre of the park have given the Mariners something they lacked before.
