By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 06/12/2011

TOWN head into the first of four home games at Blundell Park in a busy pre-Christmas period against Mansfield. The Mariners will be forced though to make at least one change as left-sided Jamie Green once again is suffering from a knee injury which has severely limited has playing time at Grimsby.

On loan Bury winger Luke McCarthy looks favourite to replace Green on the left side of midfield, although Serge Makofo is another possibility although the former Kettering winger he has only just returned from an injury himself.

Another possible change for Town is the return of Ghanaian defender Will Antwi in central defence. The Luton on-loan defender was ineligible to play in the FA Cup, but could replace Pearson who played in the former international's position in the back four.

Town were generally below par against Salisbury in Saturday's FA Cup tie, but the managers are otherwise unlikely to tinker too much with a side which has not lost for nine games.

Mansfield, who lost the corresponding fixture last year 7-2, intend to keep an unchanged side, which means they'll play in a 4-3-3 formation. The Stags have already beaten Town once though this season, and will be looking for at least a point to extend their unbeaten run to 4 games and keep them in touch with the play-offs,
