Town Target York Midfielder

WITH the end of the month approaching, negotiations with potential signings are beginning to heat up after a quiet spell. York City midfielder Patrick McLaughlin is the latest name to be linked with Town, and he will become available at the beginning of July when his contract with City expires.

The 22-year-old Northern Ireland U-21 international is an attacking midfielder who has played extensively for York both in the Conference and League Two. Prior to joining York the left footed player was on the books at Newcastle but never made an appearance for the Magpies.

McLaughlin has scored 14 goals from 74 games for York, a healthy return for a central midfielder. He has also played 16 times for his country at U19 and U21 level.

McLaughlin is not expected to commit to a new club until the start of July.

The Mariners are looking for four further players to add to their squad.
