Hurst Wins Award

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 02/12/2013

PAUL Hurst has been made Manager of the Month for November. Town won all their league games during the month and also knocked neighbours Scunthorpe out of the FA Cup. It is a fitting accolade to Hurst's success since taking sole charge of the club in September.

Hurst has the opportunity in December to claim another league scalp in Northampton, who the Mariners play on Saturday in Round 2 of the FA Cup, and gain a potentially lucrative tie in Round 3.

Should Grimsby beat Coalville in the FA Trophy replay on Tuesday night they will face Barnet away in Round 2 of the FA Trophy. Should they progress it will be the first time that Town have played in Barnet's new ground The Hive. The Mariners recently beat the Bees, managed by former Dutch international Edgar Davids, during September at Blundell Park. The match at Barnet would be on December 14th, and would cause a postponement of the Southport game scheduled for that day.

The full draw is as follows:

Staines T / Luton Town v Wrexham
Whitehawk v Basingstoke / Hav & Wat
Eastleigh v Gateshead
Barnet v Coalville / Grimsby T
Barrow AFC v Maidenhead United
Gosport Borough v Nuneaton Town
Tonbridge A / St Alb City v Cambridge United
Guiseley AFC v Bradford (Park Avenue)
Aldershot / Weston SM v Worcester / AFC Telford
Tamworth v Boston United
North Ferriby United v Woking
Whitstable Town v Ebbsfleet United
Leek Town v Hungerford Town
E Thurrock U / Dover Ath v Leamington / Northwich
Braintree Town v Lincoln City
Chorley v Dartford / Forest Grn
