Grimsby v Hyde Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 21/04/2014

GRIMSBY and Hyde meet for the final home game of the season with Town having everything to play for and relegated Hyde absolutely nothing. The Mariners need 4 more points to be certain of a play-off place, and are strong favourites to get them against the division's whipping boys. But nothing is certain.

Everyone expected Chelsea to roll over Sunderland this weekend but it didn't happen. Every weekend there are huge upsets and Town have to approach this match professionally treating Hyde with utmost respect, even though they have only won one game all season. They've draw quite a few though, and Town need three points if they want to avoid going into the final game of the season at Braintree needing to win.

The biggest doubts for this game are skipper Craig Disley who missed the draw at Alfreton with a back injury. Centre back Shaun Pearson is also one yellow card off a three match ban and Paul Hurst may choose to rest him for this game.

All eyes will be on the Gateshead and Braintree games today. If both teams win Grimsby will need a point at Braintree even if they beat Hyde. Braintree kick off late at Barnet, so Town could get in the play-offs without kicking a ball if the result is right at the Hive.
