Town Make Three Signings

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 20/01/2017

TOWN have signed three new players this week and all could play a part in the weekend's tie with Notts County. Midfielder Jamey Osborne and striker Akwasi Asante have both signed from Marcus Bignot's former side Solihull Moors for "undisclosed fees". Mansfield midfielder Chris Clements has also joined for an undisclosed fee in an 18-month deal.

Osborne and Asante, both 24, have signed two-and-a-half year deals. Most supporters felt that it was midfield and attack where the Mariners were weakest and Marcus Bignot has strengthened both those areas will players he is familiar with.

Meanwhile young midfielder Josh Venney has joined Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side Sutton Cold field on loan. The 19-year-old has had limited opportunities at Blundell Park even before the new arrivals. In reality, Town have too many players at the moment and need to offload some of their fringe squad members.
