Wanted: Young Hungry Manager

GRIMSBY director John Fenty has been surprised at the lack of former players in the list of applicants for the vacant managerial post. In an interview with Radio Humberside Fenty said that he was looking for a "young, hungry manager".
Without naming names Fenty said that he was disappointed that the applications the club had received had mainly from established managers. The director has asked any former pros who were looking to make a name in management to get in touch.
John pointed to the examples of Brian Laws and Paul Hurst who had both started their careers at the professional level at Blundell Park and had gone or to make a name for themselves.
Although the club have a shortlist of "three or four names" they are clearly not enamored by any of them and are hoping that someone else comes forward.
Grim Rob Says: This is a fantastic job! Alan Buckley, Brian Laws, Russell Slade and Paul Hurst have all made their names at Blundell Park. There are so many ex-pros and only a handful of jobs available at any one time that there must be people who are tempted but maybe didn't realise that they might be in with a chance of a fantastic challenge.
