"Target 6000" - Push for Promotion

By: GTFC
Date: 07/03/2006

THE Mariners are just 12 games away from potential promotion to League 1. As a final push from everybody associated with the Club and the local community, the Club have undertaken a campaign (with the support of the local press) to attempt to get 6000 home fans to each of the final 6 home games.

The campaign is starting with Barnet at Blundell Park next Saturday, 11th March 2006, kick off 3pm. We are so confident that there will now be a fantastic groundswell of support for the Club that we have reserved the 2/3 of the Osmond Stand (1200 seats) for the next couple of games to accommodate the additional support, if required.

Also, to get the right 'kick off' for the campaign, we have produced 25,000 vouchers which will be distributed to local schools & businesses, which give the bearer special concessions to get into any stand for as little as £5 each, as part of a family ticket of 4, for the Barnet match.

From costing over £40.00 for 2 Adults & 2 juniors in the seats at Blundell Park, this promotion will see that cost reduced to more than 50%!!

We will be looking to promote the final 6 homes games within the 'TARGET 6000' campaign to make the crowd the '12th' man in support of the Mariners' promotion push.

Why We Need a Campaign

We asked the 3 teams occupying the top 3 spots, if they market / promote or discount their games to bring in a decent crowd to back their team in their bid to win promotion. None of them do!!
