Paul Cox (213.1.163.162)- Octo 16, 2001 - 3:22:14 Waldron, East Sussex [UK] Professional football is part of the culture of this country and is constructive in the binding together of people on both a community and national level. To deny an established club a new ground and a viable future is to the detriment of the concept of community - a concept that should be uppermost in the thoughts of responsible government, whether at a local or national level. |
Margaret Anne Clarke (195.92.65.211)- Octo 16, 2001 - 3:21:02 Chichester [United Kingdom] Good luck |
Bob Haines (213.1.133.71)- Octo 16, 2001 - 3:13:06 Horndean [UK] A football club is at the heart of every community. Support the town of Grimsby and give them the help they need. |
Colin Farmery (62.60.42.62)- Octo 16, 2001 - 3:08:47 Portsmouth [England] Good luck. |
John Rimington (195.47.137.194)- Octo 16, 2001 - 2:49:00 Copenhagen [Denmark] After visiting Grimsby I could see that a new ground is long overdue as Blundell Park is not in line withe the development of stadiums today and will benefit the Mariners and the town by attracting more supporters and more trade. Good Luck John.R. |
John Pakey (194.80.57.7)- Octo 16, 2001 - 2:00:04 Maldon, Essex [England] To deny Grimsby the ground would to deny them their existence. Football today is much about buisness as it is about the people on the pitch, and if the club is to succeed it needs a ground that will hold a larger crowd and increase funds. The loyal fans of Grimsby Town want their club to carry on, a new ground is essential for this. |
chris soley (128.243.220.45)- Octo 16, 2001 - 1:19:01 grimsby [england] It is vital for the survival of this football club that grimsby be allowed to relocate to great coates. financialy the ability to hold larger crowds and offer the kind of corporate hospitality that other clubs thrive on would be very important for reducing the amount of money town loose a season. It would dramaticaly reduce the congestion in cleethorpes on matchdays while the location of the site and the layout of the nearby roads mean that very little traffic would pass thru greatcoates. it would also give better access for travelling fanscoming from the motorway and in that respect would reduce the amount of traffic coming through greatcoates off the motorway. Grimsby need a new stadium and the most sensible location is the proposed site. |
Henry Pinchbeck (211.208.218.59)- Octo 16, 2001 - 11:20:24 Seoul [Korea] We need this if were are to continue as a first division club. That means a lot to me. |
Adam Swallow (194.80.57.7)- Octo 16, 2001 - 11:19:59 Grimsby [N.E Lincolnshire] Look! we need this ground more than anything in the clubs history. I have been a Grimsby Town supporter for 12 years and i always will be but this ground is dependant on the future of the club. If the gound is not given the go ahead we could go into administration with the losses that the club are having to face. Look at the third division even Mansfield have a bigger ground than us, its a complete farce. We are an established first division side and all we can muster is the oldest ground in the football league with a measely 9,000 capacity. It needs to be sorted now not later. The issue of a new ground has been an on-going saga for approximately five years now and still nothing has prevailed. On the otherside of the coin i can sympathise with the Great Coates resident as i am one myself but they have to look at it in respect that where ever the ground is built there will be residents voicing their concerns look at the residents of Blundell avenue they have had to contend with the football matches for the past god knows how many years, so please, for the future of this club, accept the pleas of the supporters and lets have this new ground. Yours sincerly Adam Swallow |
Jonny Kirman (129.11.159.161)- Octo 16, 2001 - 09:41:07 Leeds As much as I love Blundell Park, we all no if GTFC is to have decent future, it needs a new ground. We need one now, and could have done with building to have been started a few years ago. Will we be in the same situation in a few years time? We need it asap, and let's all hope it's not too late. |
Danny Clark (62.254.0.4)- Octo 16, 2001 - 09:00:10 immingham [england] you great coates protesters may like sitting in your grimsby homes with no hopes, dreams, ambitions, with nothing to do but stop the majority of people in grimsby from having a quality footbal stadium, but for us fans it would be more than a stadium, it would mean we where no longer the laughing stock of the league, we would have something in grimsby to be proud of and one day we might even get to watch top level football in it. you should be on our side, what would you rather have a great be suage works there, a dump, a insinorator or something like that or a football stadium that one day you might even want to go to, of if not you then your chidren, you know its going to be built on sooner or later this is just a chance to have something nice there. |
Danny Clark (62.254.0.4)- Octo 16, 2001 - 08:49:52 immingham [england] we need this now, especially with all the other clubs around us getting new stadiums. |
Tracy Stringer (62.254.0.4)- Octo 16, 2001 - 08:02:43 Grimsby [U.K.] For the future of professional football in this town a new stadium is essential. The Great Coates site is by far the most suitable. |
simon mawer (141.245.40.230)- Octo 16, 2001 - 07:56:13 hull [england] grimsby as a town needs to progress the facilities are archaic. its 2002 and we don't even have a decent cinema. |
Chris Parrott (195.50.93.20)- Octo 16, 2001 - 07:29:06 Kingston [England] The new stadium is essential if GTFC is to survive and thrive. Without it the club, and more importantly the (unprosperous) NE Lincs area, will miss out on the opportunities it will create. Sound environmental planning guidelines should not be used as a straitjacket to stifle development. |
Michael Harness (212.50.181.138)- Octo 16, 2001 - 02:47:53 Hull [East Yorkshire] I am totally in favour of a new football ground for GTFC, this will provide something for the whole community, not just football. If it doesn't go ahead i can see the club folding in the future. |
